OMG... I’m not watching as much TV as in the past, I don’t even know if Ratinho has his show, but I used to love it – and discuss it with a friend at job, many years ago. Other people listened to them and asked us how come two nice chicks could love that show, lol
Anyway, I also like all those amazing vids shows (trash, trash, trash), soft porn movies that you watch at Maxprime about 2 a.m. (they’re awful but so laughable, all women have the same face and make-up!), those ads selling things as Guinzo knives and other things one will never need... oh yeah, I can’t stand it entirely, but I have to watch at least a part of Gugu show each Sunday. Back to my teen years I loved his “Viva a noite”, Menudo guys were always there... and I also love to hate Wagner Montes...

OK, let's go with the standard ones (and I'm shocked that we never really listed those before!):

Top 5 Books
Top 5 Movies (I know, I know, I'm asking too much ;)

And, just for the sake of it:

Top Five Famous Folks That You Would Want To Be Friends With

Top 5 books... well, I’ll say it’s a list of 5 books that I’ve been reading again and again through the years, ok?
Gone with the wind, Margaret Mitchell – first I saw the movie, then my mother gave me the book – and I fell hard for it! Scarlett is a character that fascinates me, a woman who has to discover her inner strenght to survive in a changing world. And she does survive, but not unharmed. The American History lesson is fascinating too, just like Rhett Butler – c’mon, how come it took so long to her to understand he was her soulmate, not Ashley? I can’t understand it, lol
The witching hour, Anne Rice – I used to love Anne Rice books, but I think she lost her touch after this book. I bought its sequels but they aren’t good – in fact this one is amazing, you can smell New Orleans all over its pages. Once I commented a post by rustler saying it would be a great movie, with Russell Crowe as Lasher, Kevin Spacey as Uncle Julian, Sigourney Weaver as Mary Beth Mayfair, ... see? I can go on and on, just picturing actors/actresses as its characters. I can even imagine the trailer! Unfortunately I’ll never watch this movie, so I’ll keep re-reading it!
Olympia: Paris in the age of Manet, Otto Friedrich – this was my favorite subject at Art History classes, and this book is great! It has many delicious details about artists and their lives, never boring you – it’s good to read it while reading Belle Epoque by tracy_rowan, *g*
Capitalismo para principiantes (Capitalism for newbies), Carlos Eduardo Novaes and Vilmar Rodrigues – Novaes is a Brazilian author, he wrote many humor books (I had one signed by him many years ago, it was exciting!), and this book was suggested by a History teacher at high school. Novaes wrote about different economical systems through history, from cavemen to our days in a non-didatic way, with Rodrigues illustrations – it’s like a comic book where you learn history. It has a political touch, but it’s funny and not so distant from reality. And I discovered recently it’s a classical reading to people of my age, everybody was pointed to it at school!
Mauá: empresário do império, Jorge Caldeira – it’s a very good book about Brazilian history at 19th century. Making a long story short Irineu Evangelista de Souza was a self-made man who believed he could help Brazil to be a very rich and powerful country. Of course he had his own interests, as well many enemies. Until today there’s controversy about him, and this book does a great work in enlighting his life, it had already become a movie few years ago (curiosity: few objects from my museum took part on it, during a scene in which Mauá’s wife was delivering one of their kids!).

Top 5 Movies?
Gone with the wind - probably my all-time favorite movie, the one I’ll be watching with my grandkids and telling them I first watched it at my grandmother’s TV!
The color purple - I also loved the book, both of them made me cry rivers through years!
American History X - because Edward Norton scared me to death when he was a Nazi and got under my skin when he started to know how wrong he was
Top Gun because Tom Cruise was my one of my first teeen crushes and until today I wet my panties watching that damn beach volley scene, lol
Star Wars - the original trilogy, I must say!!!

Top Five Famous Folks That You Would Want To Be Friends With
Bill Gates, maybe he could help fixing my PC sometimes without asking for payment!
Jennifer Lopez, this chick has very good looking boyfriends who have very, very good looking friends (we’re talking about Matt Damon, obviously). Besides I love her hair, she could give me some hints about how to make mine look great (I know, she has money and people to do that, but a girl can dream, right? *g*)
Steven Soderbergh and Quentin Tarantino, they have cool movies and seem to be nice guys
Madonna, I appreciate how she has been changing through the years but still controlling her career with an iron fist
Jack Nicholson, the guy probably has spicy and great stories about everybody at Hollywood (I love gossips, lol)

Oh, Scarlett..
The American History lesson is fascinating too, just like Rhett Butler – c'mon, how come it took so long to her to understand he was her soulmate, not Ashley? I can't understand it, lol

I never did get why it had to take her so long either. (Stupid woman.) How about that scene when thy first meet, by the fireplace?? I mean, that was THAT! Besides, I always found Leslie Howard who played Ashley..creepy-- no, no, make that - wimpy!

The color purple - I also loved the book, both of them made me cry rivers through years!

Love that movie. Oprah makes me cry every time I see it, she was especially brilliant.

American History X - because Edward Norton scared me to death when he was a Nazi and got under my skin when he started to know how wrong he was

Heh. Call me deranged, but I never thought swastika could look THAT good. (The one on Beecher's ass? Seriously pales in comparison LoL)

Top Gun because Tom Cruise was my one of my first teen crushes and until today I wet my panties watching that damn beach volley scene, lol

Oh, God, so I'm not the only one after all!! LoL Everybody always teases me about having this movie in my collection - because I'm supposed to be a serious 'film appreciator' and this is as commercial as commercial gets. But what can I do?? It's a classic (of a sort) and I really think Tom Cruise looked good (cocky!) in it ;) It's a (pre)teen thing for me as well :) And the soundtrack? Has never lost its loving feeling!

Star Wars - the original trilogy, I must say!!!

Never seen it, can you believe it?? And have no desire to :P I know, I know..you don't even have to say it.

As for the 'Famous People', I can only ask you (pretty please) - when you become friends with Bill Gates, do point him in my direction - my PC could use some serious tuning as well :P Of course, you'll have to worn me first so I can remove all the 'inappropriate' content (fiction alert!!) on time LoL

I think both of us have a serious problem, sweetie, because when I first saw that movie I thought "OMFG this nazi is teh sex", lol - I mean, I was born in a Latin country, my family came from Africa, how can I think something so awful and wrong like that? But I didn't like him bald, he was sexier when his hair grew. I know, I'm fucked up beyond reason for saying it loud... :(

And don't worry about my "friend" Bill, I'm sure he'd seen much more porn at his own employees PCs!

Let's see... 5 favorite fanfic stories, any fandom. And, since someone asked me this, 5 places you'd like to go, with, um.... Jason Isaacs or Chris Meloni, and what you'd like to do there.

Five favorite fanfic stories? Rough Trade by tracy_rowan, Lockdown series by
Angel and For your pleasure by alinewrites, from Oz fandom. Pet by Lynn, Je Te Plumerais by nimori from HP fandom.

Five places to go with Jason Isaacs and Chris Meloni? (of course I want both of them, lol) Let’s see...
Paris, because I never went there and that place must be amazing. Alaska, because I never went there, never saw snow and it’s a beautiful place (well, at least it is like that on TV!). Egypt, because I never went there and its story is fascinating, probably the air surrouding pyramids is magical. Salvador (where debaser28 lives) and Ouro Preto, great Brazilian cities that I love, I’ve been there many times and would love to show them to those guys. And the nearest motel, because I’d love to spend some quality time with them. Did I really write last sentence? ;o)

Mmm, love the Oz stories. What are the HP ones about? I'm almost sure I've heard of Pet.

And I'm right there with you on that last sentence... yum!

You know, the usual: Harry and Lucius having sex, lol
"Je Te Plumerais" summary: Harry is Voldie's prisoner, and then Lucius becomes a prisoner too. Prison sex eventually happens, beautiful images will be glued on your mind for a long time. It has two sequels, first story from Lucius POV and second story about their wedding and how everybody reacts to it.

"Pet" summary: Voldie won, Harry becomes Lucius pet. Harry gets pregnant and runs away. Lucius finds him. It's one of my favorite stories from HP fandom, and this summary stinks, it's much more than this!
