I know I should keep my mouth shut but I can't help: this kerfuffle going on at TS list is making me nervous and sick and I don't think it'll stop anytime soon. It seems it's getting worse and worse, each time I open my mailbox there are new messages about it. I understand why a few rules are necessary, even if I don't agree personally to them. In fact I understood this entire thing better after reading callmeri comment on alinewrites - I never knew a list could be banned from Yahoo because its "questionable contents". How can they do that? There must be thousands of lists, how can they control all messages from all of them?
Anyway I also feel sad with this situation. I mean, alinewrites wrote a nice story about two consenting teenagers, then it wasn't allowed to stay on list because of its rules against sex involving children. OK, I see the point, but I didn't think it was about child porn. The story was beautiful, about fictional characters, no one was forced, nowadays sex life is starting early to most part of people, during teen ages, I can't believe Yahoo would give TS a hard time about it. I don't know, maybe I'm too naïve about this kind of things, I never belonged to a fandom before Oz , but I think there'll be hurt feelings in the end of this little riot, and it'll be really bad.

Yahoo may not monitor all lists individually, but all it takes it one person bringing a list to their attention, for whatever reason, and Yahoo can start looking into it. I remember hearing about a Phantom Menace slash group getting deleted pretty recently, and I think it was under similar circumstances. It *can* happen.

Is it right? I mean, do they have the right to do that? Aren't they disrespecting the privacy of people who belong to those lists?Of course there are lists with questionable contents who should not exist, but it's hard to me to believe they have the right to delete a list about a TV show because of a single message!
I feel extremely uncomfortable witnessing this situation, Actizera, specially because it seems worse than before every time I check my mailbox. I really enjoyed Aline's story, and didn't find it was shocking or questionable because characters age. In fact I thought their ages make it more beautiful. OK, I know rules exist for a reason, but as I said I never belonged to a fandom before and it seems to me there'll be people seriously pissed off until this kerfuffle ends, and it won't be a good thing.

I don't really know the details about what steps are involved before Yahoo takes action against a group (and yeah, they make it pretty clear, when you first form a group, that they can take such steps if they decide it's necessary), but I think it's considerations like that, along with the legal issues callmeri mentioned, that led to the rule being implemented in the first place—at least, from what I understand. And, like I said, I have heard about it actually happening.

It's a pity. I couldn't imagine Yahoo (or any other site) would take these questions so seriously, but anyway it's a good thing, there are too much children abuse on several webpages. However I hope now things are calmer at TS! ;o)

Ana, after pressing "Print Screen" I go to PaintBrush (I don't have Photo Shop or any other good image program) and press ctrl+V. And it works! Sometimes I press "Print Screen", ctrl+C, then open Paint Brush and press ctrl+V and it works too. Try those two ways.

Oh dear! Don't feel bad for me! I'm really not hurt or anything -to tell you the truth, I don't think it deserved this fight on TS. I archived my story, the sequel will have the boys "legal age" and that's all.
But thank you for liking that story that much, and using my icon!!!

Sweetie, I loved this icon, it's so cute, Chris looks so peaceful and focused at same time! But as I said before I liked a lot your story, and surely I'll wait anxiously for its sequel, no matter how old they'll be!

I thought that the kerfuffle wasn't so much about Aline's fic but about different opinions about what can or can't be acceptable in a fic. I'm optimistic about the whole thing, we can have different opinions and talk about it as long as we stay civilized. It doesn't have to end in a flame war.*g*

That's the most important point, Ana. I never imagined there could be this riot about fic rules, and it surprised me a lot!
