Finally I’m back!!! My PC is working perfectly; I’m on vacation until February; it’s not so hot (today isn’t so hot!); I finished my Christmas shopping yesterday morning and everything is wrapped; I mailed and e-mailed all messages I was intending to send to people I love; my B/K CDs (Roberta Winthrop generously record them to me) now have nice covers; and best of all, this night me, my parents and my grandma will stay comfortably at home! God does exist...

Vacation... such a nice word. Just because of it I spent my last days at job printing fics I never read / I’ve already read but want to read again. They are: How Toby fell, Tobias, Some enchanted evening, Shenanigans, Belle Epoque, Rough Trade. Printing them took me a lot of time and paper, but it was for a very good cause – feeding my B/K obsession!

*********

My grandma had a cataract surgery some days ago, so she’s recovering here in my home. She’s a strong old lady, with a lot of temper, just like my mother. I’d love to be like them, and that’s a pity I’m not.

There was a time we used to meet all relatives at a cousin’s house to spend Christmas Eve together. It was good, but really exhausting, I mean, it was hot (remember, now it’s summer in Brazil!), all children running and screaming, some people feeling sadness because the ones who had died, somebody drinking a little more than was expected... it was the same every year until I had a serious argument with another cousin during Easter lunch. Well, it seems my family was never the same after that, but to me it’s better, now Christmas is calmer, we just meet the ones who really count, the ones who we really love during this week, and that’s ok to me.

*********

Some days ago there was a kind of meeting of blogs owners (I think I wrote about it before, I’ve a blog in which I write in Portuguese, it’s Blog da Jackie). It was absolutely funny, it was the second meeting I went this year. Some of those boys and girls are really nice, we had a good time together. And it’s always funny to discover how those people who write such interesting things look like. I’ve already known few of them, but that day I met new faces – and discovered new blogs to visit! Oh my, it’ll never end, I’ll never leave my PC again, there’s so many URLs to visit!

*********

Ah, my cousin’s wedding... it happened last Saturday, and I’m glad to say none of old aunts asked me about my wedding. It was just like every wedding: little problems (the bouquet almost didn’t arrive), happy bride and groom, relatives who didn’t meet since last century, too loud music (and there was another party with loud music in front of the place we were!), overdressed people, etc.

*********

And I’m also glad to say I left that party seconds before the bride threw her bouquet to her not married friends. Jesus, I like taking part of it, but just when many friends of mine are there with me. It’s always a kind of war, grown up women fighting for flowers, showing how desperate they are to have luck to find a husband!!!

So to all of you... Merry Christmas!!!!!!

I've already read parts of How Toby fell, but now I'll read it entirely - and I know I'll love it! But Rough Trade will always have a special place in my heart and mind. It was one of the first fics I read, and it really possessed me, I couldn't do anything else before finish reading it. Now it's time to read it again!
