Holiday meme

tracy_rowan posted this meme few days ago, and I liked it a lot. So I’m posting it too!

A holiday meme

*******
Step One

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

About my wishes...

1) There are many homeless people on my city, and once a month me, my parents and some friends help them with food (my mother cooks soup, we prepare sandwiches, cake, cookies, etc.). We rent a van and go to streets where they are, and they already know us, all those poor men and women are very respectful and the happiness on their faces while we’re there just talking to them is priceless. I don’t know about your city, but I’m sure there must be places for homeless or very poor people go on your neighborhood. It’d be great if you could donate them old clothes, shoes, food or even few hours working there. Believe me, all those things are really important to people who don’t have them.
2) Buy a book and read it. It’s serious, I bought 4 or 5 books this year and didn’t have enough time to read them entirely. So buy one, and later tell me about it.
3) Look for an old friend. It’s serious too: internet and telephone are great, but nothing substitutes the pleasure of meeting someone who was there during nice (or hard) moments of your life. It can be someone you knew at college, or a fandom friend, or somebody from your childhood, or even a distant cousin – but if that person was a good friend some time ago look for him/her, and have a nice lunch/dinner talking about life.
4) Show me your best smile, send me a photo of you (or post it on you LJ)!! ;o)
5) Postcards – yeah, babies, send me some! Just send me an e-mail (kellergirlbr@yahoo.com.br) and I’ll tell you my address.
6) Indulge yourself. Buy you a very special gift and tell me why it’s so special to you.
7) Hug your relatives and friends. Kiss them too. It’s good to show you like them that way.
8) I love rings, so if you want to send me one ask my address, it’ll be my pleasure to e-mail it for you!!
9) Fandom stuff: I’d really, really, really love to spend a weekend of hot sex with Chris Meloni. Or Dean Winters (I’ll stop before saying that "Foreigner" guy’s name or tobyfan and other peeps will kill me!). But we don’t even live on same country, so I think it won’t happen anytime soon. Sigh. However you can make me icons showing Oz actors. You can send me old magazines with Oz actors interviews. You can write a drabble about Oz characters. You know, anything involving Oz would be totally appreciated. Of course I’d love anything about Queer as Folk and Fast and Furious too!!
10) My LJ paid time is going to end soon. LJ fairy could give me few more months of paid account, it’d be a nice gift!!! ;o)

number 1 was great, Adriana. I wish for the same. On "Globo" from Sunday there was a note at Niteroi´s page about frei Luiz Colossi from Porciúncula, he´s a very sweet person and does a very beautiful work with people with lepre (but the note wasn´t about that).
I´m pround of you helping homeless and hungry people, God knows how they need it and Jesus said when you help someone who is need, you´re helping Him.
I liked this list, I´ll write mine tomorrow.

Thanks, Roberta! If only all of us could do a little... there wouldn't be hunger anymore. As Betinho said, "Quem tem fome tem pressa", and homeless people feel less abandoned when we try to help them, that's how I see that.

SURPRISE :))
Well, I'm so glad I 'caught' THIS entry to post my first comment. And I'm showing you my best smile 'as we're speaking' :D I might mail it, too. I can't say which wish I liked the most (although I thought you'd rank 'hot sex with Chris Meloni' higher LoL) - but I'm getting a few ideas here ;)

PS I haven't really done much work on my LJ (yeah, yeah, I'm slow...in that way, too! LoL), just the basics, but I promise to be more up to date as of now, when important stuff (information!!) is concerned; my stalking habits will be a bit more organized and I have mostly you to thank for it :)) Anyway...I guess a mail should follow, too, so...

Re: SURPRISE :))
Cupcake, so you're here!!!! Good, new prags are always welcomed - although I'd be your prag if you could find a way of locking me and Meloni together at same room during an entire weekend. Tell me about soreness later, LOL
Whatever, I'm here to help you, sir - if you have any questions about the wonderful world of livejournals just ask, I'll be pleased to answer!!!

Re: SURPRISE :))
AU RPS?!?!?!?!?!?! God, you're temptating me, now I'm thinking about him much more than before, LOL

Just quick lessons on LJ tags:
italic words - put them between
bold words - put them between
hiding a long text or an image - put it after
